The Australian^ omitted! Noble, Kelly, and Gregory. The weather was dull, shibwers delaying the start. The Playeirs won the toss and batted, v Vine and Devey opened. The former when he had made 5 wag' caught by Darling.—One for 15. Washington contributed 7, and was them caught by Armstrong.—Two for 27. Devey, with 35 to his credit, was run out.—Three for 62. Quaife and Arnold made a good stand, and carried the total into the ninetiesl before Saunders bowled Arnold.—Four for 93. Without any additional score the , same bowler captured Relf, making hi& hundredth wicket for the tour. Kiilick partnered yuaife, and they were still together at the tea adjournment.
