The Board appointed to report on the naval defence of the Commonwealth recommended four torpedo boats to be sold as obsolete, and another to be kept as a launch. With the boats were got some £00,000 worth of obsolete stores. BRISBANE. September 2. The Government is investigating the report that a party of police in April last-, in the vicinity of Maodonald, shot in cold blood four aboriginals who were alleged to have stolen a cow.
