The Hon. Mr. Bowen has received funther news of the Antarctic relief ship I Morning. She calls at Madeira, and sails ( i direct ib Lyttdton, at which port she is I expected to arrive in November. The in- j i stauctaons to Captain Colbeck are tjliat i after refitting and filling up with coals and1 provisions at Lyttelton, he is to sail for the ice in December, and proceed at once to Cape Adare and search for records at various place®. If the Discovery is found, Captain Colbeck will assist to extricate her from her winter quarters, and then proceed as directed by Captain Scott, If the Discovery has not wintered on the East (Coast of Victoria Land, Captain Colbeck 'is to proceed eastward along the ice barjriers to a place whehe he landed in Feb- <; ruaay, 1900. The intention of Captain Scott was to leave a record here on the / ice if Should no sign of tile Discovery be found in any part of the East Coast, of Victoria Land, Captain Colbeck will probably conclude that she has succeeded in penetrating unknown regions eastwards of 164 W. meridian. In that case the relief ship will follow the Discovery. Captain Colbeck will not risk detention in the ice, but will make for Lyttelton and await" instructions.
