Copies of a petition are being circulated throughout "the South Island asking Parliament to extend the railway from Culveiden to the Upper Waiau Ferry. Jon the road to Hanmer, to facilitate access to the Sanatorium. The-petition sets out that the development of the Hanmer Spiingsas a tourist and health resort is seriotasly impeded by want of suitable railway facilities.
