The cliffs were crowded with spectators. v • ', . Mr. Chamberlain, Lords Kitchener ; and Roberts, Sir Edmund.' Barton aaid wife, and the Seddons were aboard the steamer Nigeria. The other colonists were aboard the Arcadia and La Plata. : . They arrived at Spdthead early, ; and steamed through the fleet. . : Admiral C. F. Hotham, aboard the I^oyal Sovereign, commandietd 20 battleships, 24 cruisers, 15 gunboats, 10 training sh«ps, 32 torpedo tlestiroyersij and 7 tortp^^doboatsi, formed into four lines, each 3£ miles long.
