News from Samoa by . the Hauroto states that the schooner Alice Macdonald .left Newcastle, New South Wales, on October 22nd, with over 1000 tons of coal, bound for San Franciscoi After being some time at sea she experienced very heavy weather, and sprung a leak in her top sides. At Apia the vessel discharged part of her cargo, and 200 tons were disposed of at 225. per ton. , By disposing of 200 tons of cargo the ship will'be considerably lightened, and it is hoped, Ca,ptain M'ardin will have better luck on his .passage to San Francsico than hitherto.
