SALVATION ARMY.
Successful meetings were held on Sunday at the Salvation .Army.', .Mrs.'.Major Evans and Lieutenant Winslade were present at the morning meeting, and sang solos. In the afternoon Captain Powick conducted a very interesting and enthusiastic meeting. At 7 p.m. another large and profitable time was enjoyed. Ensign Mathers ably performed the pleasing ceremony of commissioning 28 Ideal officers, the names of whom are as follows: Charles Snow, corps, sergeant-major; Richard Thomas, treas-; urer; Charles Bbwater, secretary; Thomas. Ellis, junior corps sergeant-major; Jean Siddall, junior corps; secretary; William Summers', bandmaster; Frank Beesow, band sergeant; Martin' Wallace j band Secretary ; W. Bates, ward sergeant; . G. Smithson, hall sergeant; E. Snow, recruitr, ing sergeant; P. Beesoni recruiting sergeant ;A. Too'p, orderly sergeant; W. Rapley, hospital sergeant fG. Wildebaaks, orderly sergeiint; L. Bourne, timbrel sergeant; E. Gillies, trade sergeant; H. Abbott, literature sergeant; E, Snow, J.S. guard; K. Irvvih,* tribute sergeant; and A. Harrkon. colour sergeant; D. Templeton, W. Nevill!, W. Thomas, W. Jamieson, A. Kewley, R. Thomas, C. Bbwater, bandsmen.
