J RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. A "Hack" means a horse that- has, at time of nomination, never won a race ot the value of 80sovs, or races of the collet tive value of lbOsovs, since Ist August, 1899, and has never won an advertised raje exceeding 40sovs. (hack and hunter ran* excepted). 2. The winner of any flat race after declaration of weights to carry a penalty oi 71bs., and of every additional race 51b extra in all handicap flat events. 3. Entries by telegrams must give full particulars of the horse, and must be confirmed in writing at the earliest possible opportunity. 4. Owners, trainers, and others entering and. accepting horses for this meeting are notified that no entries or acceptances will be received unless accompanied by the necessary amount in cash. . 5. No entry will be received for any race, except on these conditions: That all disputes, claims, and objections arising o-1 of the racing shall be decided by a majoivty of the stewards, and their decision phall be final. 6. The stewards reserve the right to alter the time or date for declaration of weigats, nominations, or acceptance. All races to be run under "The New Zealand Rules of Racing." Stakes paid in .firll. DIVIDENDS. Totalisator dividends in the proportion of 75 per cent, to the first horse, and 25 per cent to the second horse, will be paid in all races where five or more horses, tne property of different owners, start. In the event of horses the property, of one owner (being coupled on the totalisator) running first or second, or dead heat for first place, the dividends will be decUued on the coupled horses only. In the event of coupled horses finishing first and dead heat for. second place n ith another horse, the dividends will be declared in the proporton of 80 per cent, on the coupled horses and 20 per cent, for the other. Bookmakers, their clerks or agents will not be admitted to the racecourse or enclosure, and any person laying totalisator odds will be prosecuted. ; ■ ; Note.—The Post and Telegraph Office closes at 5 p.m. The Secretary will receive money for investment on the totalisator.
