WELLINGTON DOCK SCHEME.
■. Per. Press Association. WELLINGTON, November 21. The committee which was appointed by the Wellington Harbour Board to deal with Mr Ferguson's report on the dock scheme pesented a. report at this afternoon's meeting of the Board. The committee recom-mended-the Board to approach Parliament next session with a request that the Grainger Street block should be vested in the Board as a permanent endowment for dock purposes. This block was acquired By the Board some time ago from the Corporation under certain conditions, ampng others that* the ■ land must be, sold within nine years after acquisition. The' Board has expended nearly £40,000 on the block,' and the committee proposes in effect that .the Boardshould: subsidise the dock to that extent, retaining the block as permanent property from which revenue would be derivable. The report of the committee was adopted. • .. .
