QUEEN'S STATUE.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON", August 27. At a. meeting of.the executive of the Queen's Statue Fund, a letter was read from an eminent English sculptor that he could furnish a good bronze statue, with granite pedestal, for £2000. It was resolved to obtain a sketch of the proposed statue, and in the meantime to obtain lurther subscriptions to the funds, iwhich now amount t0'.£1628.:
