In the Assembly, the Women's Franchise Bill' was read a second time by 51 against 7. The railway revenue fof the past year has increased by £410,000, and tramways increase £142,000 compared with the previous year. Both are records. There is a nett surplus on the two services of £126,----000.
MELBOURNE, August 22. In the House of Representatives the Government had a minority on divisions on a- clause of the Postal Bill, declining th« carriage of newspapers containing seditious and libellous matter.
ADELAIDE, August to,
The Estimates of expenditure shows a decrease of £307,000 compared with the previous year, due to the transference of several departments to the Commonwealth.
