A PEACE MANIFESTO FROM THE CHURCHES.
LONDON, August 15.
- Dr. John Clifford, President of the Metropolitan Free Churches Council, and 500 Free Church ministers have presented a peace manifesto favouring amnesty, autonomy, and compensation. Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman has replied that settlement on those lines would be sound policy and common sense and in accordance with Christian principles.
