OLD BOYS' ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL BALL,

Seldom has the Drill Hall presented a i more pleasing appearance than it did last evening, when the annual ball in connection with the Wanganui Collegiate School Old Boys' Association was held. For several evenings previous a number of industrious old boys had been hard at work decorating the hall, putting the floor in order, etc., and certainly lihey are deserving of praise for the result of their labours. About 150 couples graced, the Door to capital music supplied by Messrs. Hooper (piano), Gilbey and O'Hara (violins), Willis ('cello), and Perrett (cornet). A programme of twenUy-four items, with a number of extras, was gone through, the function not "breaking up" till an early hour. The hard-working- secretary (Mr. A. H. Lewis) must, be congratulated on the manner in which he carried out his duties, as also must the members of the committee—Messrs. C. L. Dymock, T. H. James, L. Craig, A. E. T. Nixon, and C. J. Wray. The supper was provided by the lady friends of the old boys, and was of anairare that should have satisfied the most fastidious. Taken altogether, the ball proved most enjoyable, and may be termed the most successful yet held by the Wanganui Old Boys' Association.
