A PLATELAYER'S MISFORTUNE. William Pickwrorth, platelayer, residing at Balclutha, Otago, has met with a. groat misfortune, i)artieulars of which -were gathered by our reporter As lie is both well-known and highly respected in Balclufha and Palmorston, great sympathy has been expressed for him. It appeals that owing to the hard work and exposure j when ilaying plates on the Government j Railway About three years ago he. was attacked by sciatica. Acute- burning pains started in tlie hip and gradually extended do-.vn the leg to the ankle. Every movement cMised fearful igony. This misfortune incapacitated . IMm from work, .ailthough he kept on as long as possible. Then he tried several medicines without r-vail.
