The Otago Daily Times, in speaking of the production in Dunedin, said: "It was lavishly, indeed splendidly, staged. The scenic effects will compare- more than favourably with anything of the kind seen here before. Some of tho. sets were peculiarly effective, and were received with the most dmonstrative applause. One of these represented' London by night'from the top of the monument., The roofs of the. houses, the city jights extending in the distance, the_ silvery Thames gleaming and scintillating in the surrounding illuminations, alt serve to make as effective a stage picture os could possibly, be conceived.
