WELLINGTON, June 19? - The Acting-Premier sent a cablegram to Lord 5 Roberts the day after the . relief of Mafeking, asking him for information as to'' the condition of New Zealanders who had been taken prisoners. To-day the Hon Mr" Ward received from the General the following reply, dated-Pretoria, Bth June ; •—The following are released and well -.— Quartermaster-Sergeant - Borland, Troopers Harris, Poper W ad l"e, J. Catheral', Butters, Cassor, Franklin, Valentine, Palmer, Jewell- and Farrier R. E. Smith. In hos-' pital - Troopers Heenan, Power, Aliller, Ptrosser. Dead— Troopers Tarrant and Wyllie. >\ - .
