A Desailly, stationer, of BroarVay, lor a certificate to be registered as a servants' registry office, which was gra.iled. M. W. J. Chancy, .- ostmasier ot or.'ocal office, is on holiday leave, and Air Ward, of the Wanganui office is in charge during his absence. At the Hunterville Court yesterday, before Mr Greenfield, S.M. thj only deferdI ed case was that of the Ran^itikei County Council y J. H. Norris, aga.nst whom an information was laid by the local body in connection with a nuisance caused through i> bad drain. it was laid under the Public Health Act. Mr Cohen appeared for the Council, and Mr. Meldrum for defendant. His Worship fined defendant os and costs, and ordered the nuisance to be abated forthwith. A handsome blue sateen banner Jm? inn been made for the children jf i.he Marton Loy,il Temperance Legion, and will be .in view at this evening's entertainment.
