THE ROYAL ENFIELD GUP.
A SPLENDID TROPHY. The above splendid cnp, to be competed for at the League of Wheelmen Championship Meeting next month, has arrived. It was on view in Mr J. Uoss' window on Saturday, and greatly admired. The cup stands fully 3ft high, and is richly em* J bosstle wilh beautiful floral designs. On each side of the body is a, bicycle and rider complete, and the latter is apparently doing his best to cut out a mile under "evens." It was presented to the League of Wheelmen for annual competition, and is subject In conditions. The principal ones are that it must be won three times on behalf of a, club, who hold it for a year, and they in turn have to present it to their member** to compete for, but the company mako it a condition that the cup must be won twice in succession, or three times at intervals before becoming the indiviual propeity of a member. The cup was first competed for at the meeting held in Dunedin, and through the agency of George Sutherland, the Christchurch Cycling Club has a "leg in," and with Sutherland, Barker, Wall, and otheis competing for them this year, their chance of • again getting possession of the handsome I trophy appears to be a rosy one.
