A discussion took place on ths Taranaki Board's circular suggesting that the whole of the cost should be thrown bn the consolidated fund. Menibdrs were agreed that the bost was far too great,' and that something ou*ht to ba done to prevent men deserting their families. Some thought the districts should te made cmaller, so that the qintrol of ' the funds should be more effective. Eventually it was decided to issue a circular . inviting all'Mi9 boards to hold a conference 'here to discuss the whole question.
