Auckland, March 5.

The Rev. Shirley Baker returns from Fiji by the Taviuni. The Hon Horace Emberson, Co'ouial Treasurer of Fiji, is also a passenger.

Mr A. H. Waddell, whose prospecting operatious were stopped, by the Government, has had an interview with the Hon. Mr Cadman.' The Minister stated that until triangulation was established Government would allow no prospecting. The matter is to be brought before Parliament next session on behalf of Mr Waddell. 5 ' The Minister ntated to Mr Waddell that rumours had reached the Government that money was being given to natives to allow of a passage throuoh the locality.
