MR BOOTH'S FIGURES. A statement handed in to the Banking Committeo by Mr Booth shows that the total writings off by the Bank of New Zealand from 1888 and 1896 came to £3.095,799, of which £1,195,231 represents the writing down of various accounts comprised in tbo consolidated proparties account prior to the' sale to the Estates Company, and £1,136,262 the amount written off private accounts. £17J,136 still remains to the credit of the contingency fund account.
