; • ANNUAL MEETING OF PABISBIONERS. .(From Oua Own Correspondent.) 'Iha annuil meeting of parishoners v&t held on Tuosday last, there bein? abont 25 preseni, the Rev. C. C. Harper, Vicar, - presiding, After the miautes of tbe .last meeting had beon read and confirmed, tho balancesheet and report was submit! ed. The' main features of the report were thb incroased attendance, the improvements effected at a cost of £02 9s 3d, an i the loss of several members by removal from tho district. _ Reforence was made to the visit of tho Bishop, to the purchase of a buggy and harness for tho use of the Vicar, the rc-rooflog of the schoolroom, br_,.ing the church, and general improvements, Special mention was also made of' the energy and judgment of tte Vioar j the services cf the Sunday School teachers, choir and organist, etc.. and to the help given by many in the country districts. The report and balance-sheet were adopted, the latter showing a slight losb for the year, Mr E. C. Horner was re-nominated a«

The Vicar, in hia address, leferrcd to the matter of roligions education ; tothe visit of the Biehop of f. lisbury, mention ing the remuks of - Presbyterian minister in Auckland, as to the Bishop's supposed commeits on the colonial church coinpetioD, es disclosed in a misleading oable message from Home. He also referred to. the conso-ratiou service of the ' new Bishop ; to the need of more subscribers for the Church Chnnicle j and to , choir and Sunday school matters, coicluding by thanfcing the Lay Header and Vestry for their services, and also for the buggy which had been provided for their use. • After furthf r routine buBines3 had beon transacted, the meeting closed.
