Owing to the serious illness of the Agent-General, he has applied to tho Government here for two months leave of absence. It is, however, unlikely that he will again return to duty. Hobart, March 27. Amendments in the Probate Bill, in its passage through committee, have reduced the tax up to a thousand pounds, from a penny to a balf-penny, and made all estates exempt from the tax up to a valuo of £500.
