Tho Department of Agriculture has issued a circular to dairy factories statiDg that the branding clauses of the Act are to be strictly enforced, and pointing out that if they intend exporting dairy produce their trado mark must be registered. Dunedin, Octobor 7. At a meeting of 450 people held in the Presbyterian Hall, Milton, on Friday evening, and presided over by Colonel Bailey, chief of the Salvation Army, the following reholntion was proposed by the Bev. Mr Chisholm, and carried unanimously:—"That thia meeting of Milton residents awards to Captain Matthews a hoarty welcome on his retnrn tq Milton from Dunedin Gaol, and desires to piss its deep sympathy with him j it also desires to express to the Borough Council the advisability of repealing Sections 69 and 60 of by-laws No. 2, whioh interferes with the open air work of the Salvation Army. _____—— I
