Wo had but a email sale at Stratford on Friday, the 18th inst., barely the advertised number of cattle coming forward. However, all that were yarded sold and realised good prices either at the hammer or immediately after. At Hawera in the Glover Boad yards on Wednesday, tho 23rd inst., the entries were very large, tho bulk of which were of first-class quality, and as the day was an exception to the rule, i.e. fine, a large number of settlers attended. Bidding was keen from start to finish, though at the close of the sale a few stock returned home unEold. although gccd values were offered for every line.
