I • (Per Pbeso Association.) Dunedin, August 25. A named J, Sanderson was attacked by larrikins last night and knocked down and kicked. He was rescued by passers by. Most of the offenders are known. At a special meeting of the University Council to consider the Endowment and Educational Reserves Bill, the Committee reported that the Bill, if passed, gave the Government absolute power to sweep under its provisions endowments of every description, including endowment for church purposes, athonioum, dtc. The members express alarm at the provisions of the Bill, and it was deei Jed to communicate with tho members in Wellington and ask them to protect the interests of the University. Mr Blair, brother of tho late Mr W. N. Blair, died in the hospital to-day.
