JACKSON, Secretary and Treasurer, RULES AND REGULATIONS. AH entries, nominations, etc., will close at the Secretary's office at 9 p.m., except ■where otherwise specified. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Secretary Wanganui Jockey Club, Wanganui, entrance money enclosed, with the name, age at the time of entry, name of owner, pedigree, colours of the rider, and in case of handicaps where horses have not previously started on the Wanganui Course, pedigree and performance of the horse. Any owner failing to ■ declare Ids colours at time of entry will be fined 2 soys., unless the colours of the owner of the horse are duly registered. All entries can be made on the Club's printed forms of entry, and must be sent to the Secretary of the Wanganui Jockey Club, Wanganui, from whom entry forms can be obtained. Entries by telegram must bo confirmed in writing at tho earliest possible opporunity. All horses must be ridden in colours. Any Jockey riding except in the colours entered, will be fined 2 soys. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be declared on entry day, and worn. Any nerson neglectinp this rule to be fined 2 soy&. In all cases where penalties have to be caniod for winning, it shall be the duty of the owner, trainer, or jockey, to notify the same to the Secretary, when possible, the evening before the raco, or in any case hal£-an-hour prior to the start. Any person neglecbing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, to bo imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding s,sove. In all races, other than handicaps an allowance will be madnto all horses sired n,prth of the Line, in accordance with th following scale ; 2 and 3-yean-olds, 101 lbs 4,-vear-olds, 7-lbs ; 5-year-olds, 31bs. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice te- that effflct to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales, one half-hour before the official time for starting the race. Any person neglecting or refusing to cotnpJy with his rulo shall pay a fine to be aroposod by the Stewards, not exceeding to soys to tho Race Fund. Five per cent, will bo deducted from 11 winnings towards the e:tpense3 of the | a Course.
