Kces' suggestion of a spec;al session to deal solely with native matters that no good or sufficient reasoii has been shown, hut rathor the contrary. He reminds Mr Rees that tho commission of which ho (Mr Roes) is Chairman has alruady dono precisely the same work as his proposal to tho joint committee of members and tribal representatives, and tho llouso is in possession of tho result. Ito ;islc3 Mr linos if hu has fi-rmullatf-d any sound scheme on the subject, and if ho iia?, calls upon him to lay it beforo tho country, and concludes by saying that thoro has not yet been time to consider the native question in tho light of ovidence which has been accumulating, but that as soon as hn can p.o into tho matter with Messrs Cadman and Can-ell , thore will bo no delay in preparing proposals for submission to th<- Cabinet. Mr Rees has replied again to the Premier's communication, urging lho need of early action in native land matters. ■
