All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to Secretary or clerk of the scales, j one half-hour before the official time for starting the race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, to be imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding 20 soys., to the Race Fund. Five per cent will bo deducted from all winnings towards the expenses of the course. All races to be run under the .Rules of Racing. Any owner failing to declare his colours at|time of entry will be fined 2 soys unless tho colours of the owner of the horse are duly registered. All entries can be made on the Club's printed forms of entry, and must be sent to the Secratary of the Wanganui Jockey Club, Wanganui, from whom entry forms can be obtained. Entries by telegram must be confirmed in writing at the earliest' possible opportunity. All horses must be ridden in colours. Any Jockey riding, exbept in the colour entered, will be fined 2sovs. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, distinguishing colours must be declared on entry day, and worn. Any person neglecting this rule to be fined 2 soys. No owner will be permitted to use the registered colours of another owner without special permission. Persons desirous of being registered as gentleman riders must send their names to tho Secratary, on or before 19th Feb. ; the names will then go before the Committee for ballot. Penalties must be calculated in accordance with the Rules of Racing. In estimating penalties, all races other than handicaps shall beconsiderodweight-for-age races. Owners are responsible for penalties and allowances. In all cases_ where penalties have to be carried for winning, it shall be the duty of the owner, trainer, or jockey, to notify the same to the Secretary, when possible, the evening before tho race, or in any case half an hour prior to the stait.
