THE CURSE OF DRINK.
(Pbb United Press Association.) Dunedin, July 31. The case of the family Eobinson came before the Benevolent Trustees to-day. Tho woman, vho had been charged with larceny, has asserted that she stole the articles to procure food for her children. The Chairman mentioned that the family had received some assistance some time ago, and when she had approached him he had sent her to the Secretary to get an order for relief, but she never went. It was shown that both husband and wife were given to drink, and quarrelled and fought. Tho woman's son, who was present, pleaded for one more chance before the children were taken away ; and as the matter had been taken up by some outsiders who weie providing furniture, food, and clothing, the case was adjourned for two weeks to see how the family behaved. Bobinson asked that a prohibition order should bo taken out against him, but he was recommended to act like a man.
