Lomair, and C. Burnett, Secretary and Treasurer. The Government having offered a subsidy of pound for pound on subscriptions up to JSIOO tor the purpose, of erecting a Monument in the Domain, Wanganui, to the memory of tho soldiers buried in or near Wanganui during the late wars with tho natives, the Committee ask for subscriptions in furtherance of this object. A list of the names and other particulars may be seen, as it is proposed that they should appear on the Monument, in tlie lobby of the Public Library, where a book is also kept to record any suggestions that; may be made by anyone on the subject, more especially as to additions and necessary alterations. The following havo been received, and further subscriptions maybe paid to any of the Committee, or to Mr Burnett, Bidgway-street, next Messrs Cummins, Sharpp, and Co.'s store, Shilling subscriptions collected in 1889, after deducting expenses, .£3l.
