The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 4060 per cent. Consols, 95£. Three months' bills discounted at 4 per cent. New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 102 ; 3J ditto, 95. The English wheat market is firm at 445. Mutton—Canterbury, 4sd per lb; Weilington, 3Jd; Canterbury lamb, sd. Beef -Forequarters, 3jjd per lb; hindquarters, sd. There is nothing doing in New Zealand hemp. Wellington, fair quality (nominally), £21 per ton. South Australian wheat, firm at 44s 6d. Victorian, steady at 445. Sugar—German beet, 13s 4}d; Java, 15s. , ■ No. 1 best Scotch pig iron, f.o.b. in Clyde, 65s 6d. . v
