The Auckland Harbour Board have decided to adopt the recommendation of their treasurer and convert the six per cent, loan of 1874 into a five per cent, loan, provision being made for a 1£ V or cen*- . loan, to be invested in commissioners, for the repayment of the balance of the loan of 1874. Mr E. Whitaker, lately secretary of the New Zealand Stud Company, sailed for Sydney to-day. Before his departure he was presented with an' address and a purse of sovereigns.
