J. Parsons (Chairman), Messrs W. F. Russell, James Pnrnell, William Bruce, J. G. Sbarpe, S. Neil, H. A. Lomax, and 0. Burnett, Secretary and Treasurer. The Government having offered a subsidy of pound for pound on subscriptions up to .£IOO tor the purpose of erecting a Monument in the Domain, Wanganui, to the memory of the soldiers buried in or near Wanganui during the late wais with the natives, the Committee ask for I subscriptions in furtherance of this object. A list of tho names and other .particulars may be seen, as it is proposed that they should appear on the Monument, in the lobby of the Public Library, where a book is also kept to record any suggestions that may be made by anyone on tho subject," more especially as to additions and necessary alterations. The following havo been received, and further subscriptions may be paid to any of the Committee, or to Mr Burnett, Kidgway-strert, next Messrs Cummins, Sharpp, and Co.'s store.
