Public Notices. W- & J. STAPLES BOOT MANUFACTURERS, WELLINGTON, And Manufacturers of Goods bearing the . above well-known and Celebrated Brand, are glad to be able to announce to the in- . habitants of Wanganui and surrounding districts that, advice is still freely received from all parts of this colony fev;ng testimony of the superiority of their goods in comparison with those of other manufacturing firms in New Zealand, and attribute their success to the following rules, and precautions directed to .the Goods ,when in course of manufacture, and which have always been faith- • fully adhered to Ist. First-class workmen only are employed. 2nd. None but prime material is used, arid systematically distributed in manufacture. •• • • 3rd. The latest machinery • (laboursaving) is employed, hence their ability so undersell their competitors. , 4th. The proprietors make it a study to fulfil the wants of their numerous customers by offering them an article that will bring credit to their house and benefit also the community. 6th. And, above all, direct their whole attention to excelling the Goods of other manufacturers. In reference to the above, we would remind Householders that the "Wellington Brand" lino in Boots, Shoes, and Slippers can be procured from any Bootmaker and principal dealers in the district, and those who have not given the Goods a trial will do well to do so, and thereby encourage the employment of labour in the colony and Local Industries in general, and adequately benefit themselves by keeping money within the colony Storekeepers, Bootmakers, and Warehousemen may rely on a speedy and satisfactory issue of any favours entrusted for our execution, and would ask them to adress all correspondence to W. * J. S TAPLES * MANUFACTURERS, WOOL, FLAX, BUTTER, AND OTHEE PRODUCE. WE are prepared, as usual, to TAKE CHARGE of PRODUCE entrusted to us this Season FOR SALE in ANY MARKET that may seem to be Best for Shippers, and we have the most reliable information for the guidance of our friends. WOOL. We consider that JjONDON will undoubtedly this year be the Best Market for the staple. A largo quantity was bought last year in the Colonies for ; shipment to London, and our direct information is that* a very serious loss was made on the purchases. The experiment is unlikely to be repeated this year, except at such a margin as will make it safe for the buyers. Under those circumstances we consider growers here will do well to Becure the margin for themselves, by sending tno Wool to London on their own account, and the reports we have of the probabilities of tho market there this season lead us to emphasise this advice. We are willing to advance liberally, and we charge no interest on the advance nor exchange between here and London. BUTTER. 1 The returns last year wore most unfortunate. We believe this was chiefly due to the want of space in the Direct Steamers, and consequently to the Butter being injured while awaiting shipment. This year there will be plenty of space, I and we are making arrangements to avoid delays anywhere. So that if the [ Butter is really prime when sent from the dairy, payable results should be ob- • tamed. No inferior butter should be sent with any hope of getting a decent price. FLAX. It is wise to send only the best quality of this, and only tlione should send even that quality who are so situated ns to be able to . produce the article at the minimum cost. Both in America and in London low prices are ruling at present. We are keeping ourselves fully advised by Cable and Letter, . and we will advance according to circum- ■ stances. PROMPT SETTLEMENT on RECEIPT OF ACCOUNT SALES. , '. WE 'CHARGE NO COMMISSION, IN- , TEREST, OR EXCHANGE HEJRE , ON ADVANCES. ' SOLANDEBS AND CO., ! WANGANUI. CHRISTMAS ! /CHRISTMAS !
