* AN IMPORTANT LETTER. |.Peb United Pjjess Association.J AVellington, July 4. ■ At a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce, the president read an extract from a letter received by his firm (Levin and Co,) from a London correspondent on New Zealand hemp as follows :— " One of 'the United ' Kingdom ropenifikers has been telling us that lie has recently, and for the first' time, used some fully fair -New Zealand hemp to mako twine for an order previously filled with sisal and Manilla. He is very pleased with the result, and indeed tells us (and he is probably the beat ropomaker in the United i Kingdom) that, he finds New Zealand hemp has been better than sisal or Manilla." He urged millers to improve the quality of tho fibre, so that tho industry might become a permanent one. , i;i .
