The Council rejsumed^t 7.30 .p.m. , j Th'eNorth Island.Main Trunk Railway Bill was moved' a second time,'-.the At-torney-General promising to alter the clause referring to the disposal of' lands in the Taranaki District.
The Lincoln Agricultural School Bill was discharged. The following Bills were read'a third time' and passed-: — The Licensing Act 1881 Amendment Bill, the Timaru Harbour Board Land Bill, Government .Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Bill, Education Endowment Bill, and the Eumara Sludge Channel Bill. . The Council rose, at 9.50 till to-morrow. ■Wellington, September 12. The West Coast Settlement Eeserve Act Amendment Bill was read a first time.'; • • ■ ■
The Public Works Acts Amendment Bill was.reconimitted. The third reading, to take place on' Saturday. The Hon. Mr Stevens moved .the second reading of the Naval and Military Settlers and -Volunteers Land Bill. ..The Hon. Mr McLean moved.. That it be read, a second time this day'six months. The. Council divided, and the second reading was carried by 15 toll.. The North Island Main Trunk Railway Loan Application Bill was read a third time and passed. The Council rose at C p.m. till tomorrow.
