Whitechapel Murders
SUPPOSED ARREST OF THE MUfiDKRER. [Spkoiai,.] London, January 15. A rumour has obtained currency to the effect that Jack {the Ripper, the alleged author of the recent Whitechapel horrors, has been captured, and a wild sonsation was oroaterl iv the metropolis in conseqnence. Up to tho present, however, the police have received no confirmation of the report, which ia generally discredited. At Billingsgate market and on board boats lying off that place 59 lons lOcwt of fish condemned during September ; while the weight fish delivered at and near Billingsgate market was 13,303 lons. Arrangements are^heing made, the Duh'iu Express says, on "the Vandeleur estates, to /ill the vacant farms with Protestant tenants from Ulster, following the (example of the Coolgreany estate.
