AUCKLAND.

July 20. The dwelling house of William Moore, Wairoa South, was burned down last night. It was insured in the Imperial office, but the amount is not known.

Michael Lunny has been committee! for trial for the attempted murder of his wife.

Some alarm was experienced in Wangarei district through some suspicious entertained that two strange men seen there were Caffrey and Perm, the Great Barrier murderers. Search was made by order of Superintendent Thomson, and the men were successfully traced, but were not those " wanted."

Roderick Urquhart was killed at Wangarei Heads to-day by falling off a house.

James t)odds was committed for trial on a charge of assault with intent.
