INCENDIARISM IN WELLINGTON.

(PEE UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION, ) Wellington, July 20. An attempt was made last night to fire a house occupied by Mr W. J. Livingstone iD Palmer-street. A quantity of greasy rags were placed under the joists of the house. Fortunately it was discovered in an incipient stage and extinguished. The police hwe a theory as to the reason why the place was set on fire, but for obvions reasons refuse to make it public. At present the house is owned by Mr Fitchett, and is said to be uninsured. The furniture is insured.
