The labour riots in Chicago have nov assumed a very serious phase- A meet ing of Socialists, numbering full] fifteen thousand men, was held yester day in that oity, Thd polioe authorise ordered the crowd to disperse, but thi Socialists offered a Btubborn resistance throwing explosive bombs among th police, Mliing five, and wounding man,^ others. The police then fired upon th rioters, fifty of whom were shot dead and a large number wounded. Th greatest consternation prevails in th oity, business being to a large extant a v standstill.
