the board's aotion, but to-day Mr Nalder, the ohairiaan of the Orphanage Committee, said that Mr Ritchie had been insubordinate to suoh an extent that the committee could not work with him. Mr Ritohie has been heard by the board in explanation. It was decided that Mr Ritchie be furnished with a stateni'-nt of the reasons for his dis« missal, and it was understood that he should be given an opportunity for replying. The New Zealand Shipping Company have received the following message from London, dated February 21st: — The X.M.S. Ruapahu arrived at Plymouth to-day with her froz9n meat in
condition.
