CHRISTCHURCH ORPHANAGE.

(PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Christchuroii, February 8. The United Charitable Aid Board, at the instance of the orphanage committee, ! decided this afternoon to dismiss Mr I and Mrs Bitohi j , the master and i matron of the orphanage. The reasons for this decision were not stated. Mr Eitchie has commonly been regarded as peculiarly suited for the position, and , h»s made himself very popular since he obtained the appointment. A petition being in circulation to have the orphanage constituted a separate institution, the board appointed a committee to draw up a reply to the allegations contained in the petition.
