Williams was elected secretary, and fie Boy. Mr Lux-fora'-reporter 1 for the New Zealand Wesleyan.;.^The Eevs. Messrs Jones and Griffith had taken examination papers in classics -and theology, which would be forwarded to, the -Examination Board, and 'would be reported on at the next Conference. , The report on Messrs Jones arid Griffith's trial sermons was favourable. A resolution was passed expressing deep regret that the native minister, '. Sameka, had not taken his appointment y ; in"jthis district, and urging on the Conijr. ference ' the necessity for sending one £-i without delay. The . Conference was appoint a . probationer at iJFOpunake nexifyear, and that it 7 be con- }\ stituted a circuit. A resolution was ' ' passed, asking the Conference to employ an agent for evangelistic work throughout the colony. The rest of the business . was devoted to preparation of statistics ; and financial reports to be laid before the meeting to-morrow, when the lay representatives of the circuit will -' be k . associated with the Ministers.
