(per united press association.) Christchuhch, July 5. At the nomination for Stanmore Districs, at noon to-day, the following was the result of the show of hands : — Cowlishaw, 70 ; Bichardson, 58 ; Pilliett, 47, Pilh'ett demanded a poll. ' " ■ ■' Later. At the Stanmore nomination, ' Mr,' Cowlisbaw had the sho.w of hands in his favour. Messrs Pilliet and Bichardson' were also nominated. There was a passage-of-arms between the former and the returning officer. Mr. Lee, whom Mr Pilliet accused of unfairness.
