MEETING OF CREDITORS.
The first meeting of, creditors in Hrn estate of Alexander McMinn, joumnliif-; Palmerston North, was held n f "•<■> courthouse, Wanganui, at 2 ci'-l • \ yesterday afternoon. Only three irnlitors were present or represented . Messrs John Notinan and Alfred McMinn (bankrupt's brother) present" in person," and Mr Notman holding proxy for Chos. Gordon. ATr Notman was voted' to the chair. Mr Barnicoat appeared on behalf of the petitioning 1 creditors to "examine the bankrupt. Mr McMinn hid neglected to. comply .with the provisions of : t.iiri Act "ns to film's: a statement of assets and liabilities, but in reply to the chairman stated his assets and liabilities to be as follows : — Assets, IVTanawatn Standard newspaper, sroTnd-'. will, book debts, horses, &c, & 15C0; rind, nroporty in Wanganui and Manawatu in Buildinc Society, £SOO ; total, £?,300. Liabilities : Building Society, £fiOO ; Union- Bank, £900 ; Collins, /Yunkland, £70 ; Cowan, Sydney, £45 ; Dunlop and Edwards, Sydney, £50; Tonsen, Palmerston, £30; Ballance'and Notraan, £40 ; Alfred McMinn, £102 ; sundries, £150; total £1957. — Mr MoMinn was tben examined, on oath, by Air Barnicoat. Mr G W. Woon presiding.- Ho admitted that on or apqutthe 13th Mach last he gave a bill of sale to Mr MoKelvie.' ' "Was not aware: that the bill of . sale included property not covered by previous bills of sale — he understood that it did not do so. The third bill of sale given by- him — that of the 13th March — included a fresh credit of £200 allowed him by the bnnk. w<? did not draw the whole of the £200. At thp time the procpedings for the adjudication were instituted, he had drawn about £140 of the £200, and the bank would not allow him to draw afterwards. Since the adjudication, Mr McKelvie had taken full possession; of the property under the bills of sale. The book debts were covered .by. the first Trill" .of sale. Sotno printing paper had come to the nffine subspqu'ent to the 13th March, but he had given a promissory note for the ntnonnt, and this was included-in his' liabilities. — This concluded the bankrupt's examination. ■ ' .;' '■'■.:'' •■ ' ' Mr Alfred McMinn proposed, That Mr Vincent M. Allen, of Palmer,stohV be trustee. — Seconded by Mr Notman, and earned. The meeting then adjourned.
