UNKNOWN BRIGADE.

The annual meeting of the atyfl Brigade was held last evening at fl Station, St Hill-street. Gentlemen, — Your Committee have pleasure bringing under your notice the follow statement of work done during the jfl twelve months, and position of the 9 gade for the year ending June 3M 1881. H New Station. — The pressing neH sity of improved accommodation foiH plant, and a suitable rneetiug-roomßJ the members, has received due couiiH ation from the officers, who, witliH Committee, having gone carefully H the matter plans are at present bfl prepared for a station, which, «fl erected, will prove fully equal to theH quirements of the town, and addfl siderably to the comfort of the BrtjßJ Before committing ourselves to H uncertaking, it was thought desirakM invite the co-operation of the publicflj soliciting them to become konoH members of the Brigade, payin^H aunual subscription of 21s. Fire Brigade. ■ . Gentlemen, — I respectfully be^B report that I have examined the jflß now in the possession of your Bri^H and find the whole in a passablr^B condition. The plant at the iflß Station comprises : 2 hose reels, containing about 800 ft. of first-^B canvass hose ; 1 hook and liflfl carriage, carrying 3 sets ladders, 2flfl leather buckets, 2 fire escape shoflfl jumping sheet, together with fire-bs^B axes, shovels, etc., 1 patent respiri^B 1 patent diminishing spreader, 1 t^H also, several extra sets of cou^Bß branches, and a quantity of second-l^B hose. In addition to the abo?e,^B Brigade has three ladders, each long, and distributed through thelflßJ as reported by me last year. I atoßß to report that the Keith-street S^^B has been kept iv fair working ordjßß the past year under the careful intendence of Foreman Sharp, Company.
