AUCKLAND.

July 27. The Good Templar Lodges of Auckland have resolved to entertain the Good Templar seamen of the Detached Squadron. The Mayor has accepted an appointment on the Committee of the Harbour Board. It has been decided " That the seal of the Board be affixed to an applition to the Governor in Council for an order to enable the Board to proceed with the preliminary work in connection with the construction of the large dock." Captain McKenzie characterised the proceedings as illegal, as an Act of the Assembly is required. Mr Notman's house, at Pollock settlement, was broken into and £45 worth of goods stolen while the owner was attending a local Highway meeting.
