TIMARU.
March 9. Harvest hands are pouring into town from the country. The news from Australia concerning new rushes is creating great excitement. A large number are leaving for Newcastle and Sydney by a sailing vessel. Seventeen passengers have just left by the Annie Bow, and fully double that number leave to-day by the George Noble. Tho steamer Taiaroa was crowded fore and aft last evening with passengers for Dunedin, en -toute for A.ustralian diggings. The exodus is viewed with alarm and regret.
