March 9. i At the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning John Beanfield was committed for trial for shooting at John Spring in Colombo-street, "with intent to kill Prisoner made a statement in defence, to the effect that Spring had been the means of parting him (prisoner) and his wife, and had prostituted his (prisoner's) children.
